UK Education System

Qualifications awarded by UK universities and colleges are:

Foundation programme - For students who do not have A levels and have less than 70% in HSSC
Bachelor’s Degree – 3 or 4 years duration
(Most universities offer sandwich programme – a year in industry experience during the degree)
Master’s Degree – 1 year duration
(Some master’s degree can be for more than 1 year duration with 1 year Industry Placement)
Doctoral Degree – 3- 5 years duration

Part-time employment opportunities

If you enter the UK on a Tier 4 student visa, Students can work for 20 hours a week during term time and in the holiday/vacation period., besides that they can go for on campus jobs as well including paid internships or assistant jobs If you go to the UK on a student visitor visa, child visitor visa, or prospective student visa, you will not be eligible to work in the UK. Admission & Visa Process

Applying for admission and visa you must have to go through a number of steps.

ASCOM counsellors will help you in making application for the university of your choice and you will provide us all documents required for the admission. The university will notify you if you have been selected to study for the particular course or not. Once you have met all conditions of admission letter we will arrange Confirmation of Acceptance Letter from university.

Required Documents for admission

  • All Academic transcripts and degrees
  • Copy of passport/visa (if available)
  • Certificate of English proficiency (IELTS)
  • Personal Statement
  • 2 Recommendation letters
  • Experience letter (all previous work experiences)
  • V (it must include all details of work and education)
  • Research proposal (for PhD and Research students only)
  • Portfolio (for Art and Architecture students only)

Visa Application

You can apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa to study in the UK if you’re 16 or over. This is a points-based system.

As a Tier 4 (General) student, you must have 40 points to qualify.

  • 30 points for having a valid confirmation of acceptance for studies, which you get for studying a course at an acceptable level with an approved education provider (also known as a 'Tier 4 sponsor'), and for having acceptable English language skills; and
  • 10 points for having enough money (also known as maintenance or funds) to cover your course fees and living costs. Source: UKVI

If Student Already in the UK

Following documents of color scan required for in country applicants.

  • BRP (Biometric Residence Permit)
  • visa letters issued / used at the embassy
  • CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
  • Course enrolments/ progress/ completion letters
  • Academic achievement in Degrees/ Diplomas/ Certificate etc.
  • In case if a college license is revoked students are served with a letter of curtailment from Home Office.
  • Bank statement cover maintenance funds covering 28 days

For entry in September and October, UCAS deadlines vary between courses and course providers. ​
